Midday
sun swishes skirts
of gold on
staggered trees,
their leaves one
color hide
undersides of
another and
move like
belly dancers,
all slow flash
and shine. They
share the secret
of a verdant palette,
strewn like gems
on delicate trees'
fingertips. It
mocks this canvas
to idly label all
of this green.
